A little wish before Christmas

Few years ago I wrote a bitter-sweet letter to Santa Claus. If before I was a kid raising introspective questions about financial crisis and global warming, meanwhile I’ve seen a shift to a deeper one – a relationship crisis. This time I’m afraid Santa Claus can do nothing about it as he was unwillingly travelled to a virtual planet.

However, I still keep my yearly rhetorical wishes.

We have great technology, fast Internet, various apps, we have Viber, WhatsApp, Skype, Messenger, we have various social media channels, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter… the distance should be a call/ message away. But it seems that the more options we have the less time we have to talk to each other. I wish we were more concerned about nurturing the relationships with our family, friends and peers in genuine ways.

I wish social media was not a subsitute, but a complement. Because deep down nobody wants to leave behind just a Facebook timeline filled with selfies.
