The gift of Time

The day I celebrated another year of life was just like any other day . Except that on the day that I recently celebrated another year of life, I had this thought: how much I treasure the people who offer their time. Their time to cook a dinner instead of paying for it or ordering from Uber Eats. Their time to write a postcard or a letter. Their time to craft a proper WhatsApp message—using grammar and punctuation.

Their time to give a call to their family or friends, no matter how busy their life gets, because they simply.manage.to.squeeze.in.a few.minutes.in.their.day. Their time to babysit their friends’ children. Their time to walk their dogs. Their time to walk their friends’ dogs. Their time to help their elderly neighbour. Their time to volunteer.

Their time, more than anything else.

So I made a promise to myself, to try and be more like these people that I treasure. And give away more of my time.
