The taxi driver who likes animals more than people

Midnight, no public transport operating, with my fiancé and Asta (our pooch), trying to get hold of a taxi driver who accepts pets.

1. The first taxi driver stopped and left the moment he saw Asta.

2. The second taxi driver stopped and invited us in the moment he saw Asta.

What are the odds?

When I told him how disappointed we are with taxi drivers who don’t accept pets, he pointed at a sign on the car saying that the law had changed and pets are now allowed (a relief sound). Our taxi driver was a peaceful man who suddenly opened his heart: “I tend to like animals more than I like people. Your dog…hmm…I wish I had a dog but don’t have time for them, I go out early to work, I arrive late..it would be complicated for a dog. That is why I have a turtle.”

Then he told us the story of his turtle who bit his finger that day: “Look at the bite it gave me! Ha Ha Ha !”. The turtle will live up to 120 years. Our taxi driver was almost 70. He confessed he was worried about what would happen to his turtle after he passes away. He already tried the zoo and the ocenarium, but they only accept sea turtles.

Our taxi driver instantly became a friend…but he didn’t know.
